Crumbismus
Richard Wurm was nominated as the Painter in Residence for Echo in 2022. The founder and innovator of a unique painting model called Crumbismus, Richard has captured audiences through an array of emotions, colours, and narratives through his works.
The philosophy behind Crumbismus is "to create new life through absolute destruction", meaning that creation can only be birthed through eradicating and erasing the past.
Richard brings a much needed dimension to classical music, shaping the way our students think about their music, liberating their minds through his philosophy of art, and taking them on a journey of innovation and expedition.
In the season 2025/2026, Richard will be collaborating with Echo on a video production depicting J.S. Bach's Partita No. 2 in a series of paintings.
