Artistic Advisor
Violinist, teacher & philosopher
Born in Hamburg, Goetz Richter trained at the Munich Hochschule für Musik under Gerhart Hetzel, before advancing his studies with Max Rostal, Arthur Grumiaux and Riccardo Odnopossoff. He is now Associate Professor at the University of Sydney's Conservatorium of Music, where he coordinates performance studies and holds a PhD in Philosophy, a combination rare in the concert world.
His orchestral career spanned fifteen years as Associate Concertmaster with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, alongside positions with the Melbourne Symphony and Queensland Theatre Orchestra. In 2019 he was appointed Honorary Member of the Order of Australia for services to music.
Echo Arts is honoured to partner with Dr. Richter, a musician whose roots in Munich make this collaboration feel like a homecoming. His ability to draw on numerous disciplines helps shape our organisation in a way that is genuinely practical and meaningful for our participants.
