Schumann Quartett

Resident Chamber Music Professors since 2023

Formed in Cologne in 2009, the Schumann Quartet are widely considered seasoned veterans of the collaborative music world. Three brothers, Erik, Ken and Mark, alongside violist Matthew McDowell, studied with the Alban Berg Quartet and Günter Pichler at Madrid's Reina Sofía School of Music.

Appointed resident Chamber Music Professors of Echo in 2023, their first residency concluded in partnership with the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and the Elvina Quartet, who travelled through the George Henderson Scholarship, awarded to outstanding musicians seeking further musical impulses abroad.
