Christophe Collinet bowmaker emeritus
Christophe was born in Caen, France, and he studied with the local bowmaker, Loïc Le Canu. He then apprenticed in the workshop of Jacques Poullot, where he further honed his craft.

Christophe is an expert in old French bows, and he is regarded highly by his peers for his enviable understanding of the French tradition of bow-making.
He makes true copies of frogs that are sort-after, and is able to transmit historic French architecture into his modern copies, that seamlessly replaces the original frog without noticeable changes in playability and spirit.

Christophe writes certificates of authenticity for bows of the violin family, and produces a limited number of bows per year. As our Bow Maker (emeritus), he will be providing complimentary lectures and consultations to all students that are involved in our courses and we are grateful for his expertise and collaboration.
